内容摘要

Westudyoptimaldynamicsellingmechanismsinatwo-stagemodelwherethebuyercansearchforabetterpriceatthesecondstage.Whenthisoutsidepriceispublic,theoptimalsellingmechanismtakestheformofafixedfirst-stagepricewithpricematchinginthesecondstage.Incontrast,whentheoutsidepriceisthebuyersprivateinformation,theoptimalmechanismisamenuoftwocontracts:afirst-stagesaleatahigherpricewithimmediatedelivery,orafirst-stagesaleatalowerpricewithsecond-stagedelivery.Thustheoptimalformofsearchdeterrencedependsontheobservabilityofthebuyersoutsideoption.
